Our second phase of work was about design — creating resources and tools to help address the challenges to equity in edtech. One major part of this phase was bringing together in person 23 folks who work in edtech to help us ideate and prototype specific solutions to the challenges to equity in edtech.
This gathering itself also served as a prototype. Folks from different roles within edtech (researchers, designers, educators, students, network leaders, etc) rarely have opportunities to connect — in general, or for field-wide problem-solving. Our belief was that this space for connection, inspiration, and problem-solving could serve as a proof of concept for a community of practice that could move the edtech field toward equity.
